Polkadots

The Sound Room continues to co-write and produce music with early childhood music group "Polkadots" who are currently the hot favourites on the childrens music circuit in New Zealand! The 3rd album 'Christmas 2009' was completed during September 2009.
Made up of young mums, the Polkadots are being called New Zealand's answer to The Wiggles.
The North Shore-based singing and dancing group comprises sisters Dionne and Carly, their adopted sister Sarah and sister in-law Desiree, who are all mothers of toddlers or babies.
The Polkadots "just evolved" as Carly Tata, Dionne Shaw and Sarah Midgley had "sung together forever" since they were children and now find themselves singing to their own children.
The women want to enable parents to be involved in their young children’s education through song and dance.
The original trio were later joined by professional dancer Desiree Reid.
The women joke that Desiree recently disgusted other mothers with her stunning ballet performance on stage a mere couple of weeks after giving birth.
The women also have the benefit of some honest critics – their daughters.
"If the girls don’t like it and aren’t bopping to it within the first few minutes, it’s not good," Carly says.
